T.W.O. Interviewer: Let's get started at the beginning. You were Rookie of the year in 2002. What was that like for you?
Stryknieghn: 2002 was a great year. I made my debut starting a feud with Stratus. He was one of the most physically dominating men to ever step foot in the T.W.O. and after being here for more than 4 years he had become one of the biggest names. It was an honor to start my career at the top with a guy like that and then to get a DQ win over him was great.
T.W.O. Interviewer: Your first title victory came at Extravaganza 4 when you defeated Paramecium for the HaRdCoRe Championship. What do you remember about that night?
Stryknieghn: I remember everything about that night. In fact, the match was signed a few weeks prior and I remember talking to Paramecium (the CEO of T.W.O. Entertainment) and him telling me that I had a lot of potential. When it was decided that I was going to defeat him for the belt at the biggest stage of them all (Extravaganza) I was really honored. Part of it was that he and Thunder were going on to win the Tag Titles later on in the night, but the fact that he chose to drop the belt to me was an honor.
T.W.O. Interviewer: That title reign didn't last long. Later on that same night you defended the belt in an impromptu match against Lestat.
Stryknieghn: That's right, but don't forget, I only lost that match because Stratus interfered. He and I still hadn't reconciled our differences and by costing me the title it showed that our feud wasn't over yet.
T.W.O. Interviewer: When was the feud finally over?
Stryknieghn: A couple months later Stratus, myself, and whole lot of other guys competed in the World Heavyweight Title Tournament. I defeated several guys including Stratus to become the World Heavyweight Champion at MOTM 2003. After that he disappeared, so you could say that was the final nail in the coffin between Stratus and Stryknieghn.
T.W.O. Interviewer: You held that title for a long time. What was it like being one of the most dominating Champions the T.W.O. has ever seen?
Stryknieghn: It was important to me that I wasn't some Champion like Triple H (from WWE) who holds the belt and defends it every once and a while. I was out there every week putting my title on the line, giving people main event matches. I think that is what a true Champion does and I was proud to serve in that capacity for the T.W.O.
T.W.O. Interviewer: You finally dropped the belt at Payback 3, losing out to the ICON Scott Thunder. How did that match come about?
Stryknieghn: A few months ago we were all told backstage that Paramecium & Scott Thunder were going to dissolve their partnership and return to singles action for one last run. I had a couple meetings with both of them and it was decided that I would defeat Paramecium in the Cage and then drop the belt to Thunder. The idea being that Thunder and Paramecium would then fight in the main event at Extravaganza 5. I thought it was a brilliant idea and the best way to end the T.W.O. so I was all game for it.
T.W.O. Interviewer: How much scriptwriting control do you have?
Stryknieghn: I wouldn't say that I have any 'control'. Paramecium takes pride in talking over storylines with wrestlers just to make sure that they are OK with things. But we don't have 'control' per se. And I don't know that I really want control. I don't mind just going with the flow. I just like getting an opportunity to wrestle. Besides, I have nothing to complain about. Paramecium has always treated me well. Hell, I've fought the guy twice, both matches were great and both times he put me over! I am very happy with the way I've been treated.
T.W.O. Interviewer: What can we expect from Stryknieghn in the coming weeks?
Stryknieghn: Well, the T.W.O. is almost done so I don't know that that much can really happen in the next couple weeks. I have a rematch with Scott Thunder scheduled for ICON TV 4. I think some fans will be looking forward to that. But like I said, we're building into a match between Thunder and Paramecium at Extravaganza 5 so I don't know what the likelihood is that they'll give me the belt again but you never know in the T.W.O.
T.W.O. Interviewer: Thank you for the time. It was a pleasure.
Stryknieghn: Anytime.
